Ear reshaping is a procedure that corrects overly large or prominent ears, reducing their size or setting them closer to the head. This surgery provides quick results and is often done to improve self-confidence, as many patients feel compelled to routinely cover their ears.

The surgery will consist of an incision that is concealed by the natural crease behind the ear. Cartilage is reshaped and set closer to the head through a series of permanent structures; these will hold the ear in its new shape.

Any infection or bleeding is rare with ear reshaping, and a head dressing is worn for forty-eight hours. After this is removed, a headband is used for two to four weeks. You may wash your hair within forty-eight hours or surgery. Swelling will begin to disappear after one week when normal activities may be resumed, and after two weeks you can expect to return to work. Once the bandages are removed, you will see immediate results.
